Westford residents enrolled in Westford Power Options Program (Westford POP) will not be impacted by the rate hike recently announced by National Grid. Westford, which is under contract with electricity supplier Constellation, offers program rates that are fixed and will not change through December 2023. The vast majority of Westford households participate in the Westford POP program. If you aren’t sure, call Annette at 978-399-2326.
If you ever signed up with another electric company, you may be paying much more than you need to. If the supplier listed on your National Grid bill is not “Constellation”, you are not in the town’s aggregate program which offers this low rate.
Annette at 978-399-2326 can help you get into the town program or go to https://masscea.com/westford to opt out of your current supplier BUT: be sure you won’t be breaking a contract (and have to pay a fee) before you enroll in the town program.
Town of Westford’s Electric Aggregation Program
Town of Westford’s Electric Aggregation Program Contract dates January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023
The default rate for the entire town is $0.10793, which includes 10% additional renewable energy above the state’s minimum requirements. The term “default rate” refers to the electric supply rate that all program participants will be placed in upon the start date of the contract. Residents and businesses will reserve the right to opt down to the base supply rate or to opt up to two increased levels of renewable energy. Your electric bill will still come from National Grid and the supplier listed on the back will say “Constellation” not “Public Power”.
